Currently on the market there are 4 models of professional espresso machines. They are classified based on usage. Below are detailed information of these 4 types of machines for your reference.

Lever espresso machines. This classic coffee machine is designed with an extremely simple yet effective mechanism. The user will manually press the lever to create pressure to make espresso. Today, there are still many Baristas in Italy who love this machine because they believe that there is no way to create such perfect espresso.

Semi-automatic espresso machine. This type of machine is used a lot in professional cafes, where the number of visitors is evenly distributed throughout the day and the barista skills are hard. With one part of the process programmed automatically, the rest is set through the brewer’s technique.

Automatic quantitative espresso machine (Volumetrics espresso machine). The machine can automatically set the quantitative parameters, and automatically extract the coffee. Help the barista take advantage of time to manipulate other jobs at the bar. At the same time, automatic dosing also helps the cafe to strictly control the consumption of ingredients and ensure uniform quality between espresso cups.

Super automatic espresso machine (Fully-automatic coffee machine) can both grind coffee, compress coffee, make coffee and then push the grounds into the container. This type of machine is very suitable for use in places where automation is prioritized such as convenience stores, buffet counters, restaurants, or hotel bars…

2. Factors to consider when buying a professional espresso machine

After determining the type of machine to buy, you need to pay attention to the following factors when buying a professional espresso machine:

2.1. Select machine by brand

Should choose machines of reputable brands, especially those originating from Italy or European countries, the development center of the coffee industry (coffee machine industry). Because of its foreign origin, choosing a reputable supplier and distributor of machines is equally important. Genuine products not only have guaranteed quality but also good after-sales service. In particular, finding replacement parts is also easier when needing warranty and repair.

2.2. Choose a machine based on your needs

If you buy an espresso machine for the office, you need to choose a machine with sufficient capacity for consumption or give preference to fully-automatic coffee machines so that anyone can easily prepare. Compact design to place in the dining area, a luxurious machine also helps to add aesthetics to the workspace.

If you buy espresso machines for businesses, you need to choose machines with large capacity (can make over 80 cups/day). In Vietnam today, automatic quantitative coffee machines (volumetrics) are the most popular. This machine can serve a capacity of 80 cups of coffee or more (depending on type) per day.

2.3 Choosing based on sustainability
